Stanwood is the farthest north we regularly travel, about 60 minutes from Renton off peak. The drive is I-405 north to I-5 north to exit 212, then SR 532 west into town. Stanwood sits where the Stillaguamish River meets Port Susan and Skagit Bay, with the old downtown and East Stanwood on the flat delta and newer streets climbing the hill to the north. SR 532 continues west over the bridge to Camano Island.
Housing spans a wide range. The delta has farmhouses and in-town homes from the 1900s to the 1930s with tall brick chimneys, downtown has some masonry buildings, and the hillside north of SR 532 has subdivisions from the 1990s onward with framed chases and metal chase covers. Warm Beach and Camano Island add beach cabins from the 1950s to 1970s, many since converted to year-round homes. Masonry repair, liner replacement and cap and chase cover replacement are the main jobs.
Call 206-453-2045 or request a quote online and we confirm a time by phone or text. A sweep and inspection is a flat $299; repairs are quoted in writing after the inspection.

Local Conditions
Chimney problems we see in Stanwood
Stanwood chimneys deal with the wettest conditions on our route. The delta lies only a few feet above sea level, and fog off the Stillaguamish River and Port Susan can sit on the flats for days in fall and winter, so brick and mortar never dry out. Salt air off Skagit Bay corrodes galvanized caps, chase covers and flashing faster than anything inland, and on Camano Island waterfront homes a chase cover can rust through in a decade. Winter storms push rain into the joints of tall chimneys on 1920s farmhouses. On the hill and across Camano, cedar and fir add moss to crowns and pack needles into caps. Warm Beach cabins often have undersized flues from their original stoves.

Stanwood chimney service FAQ
I have a 1920s farmhouse on the Stanwood flats with the original brick chimney. Is it safe to use?
Only an inspection can answer that, and chimneys of that age on the delta usually have soft, washed-out mortar and no liner. A sweep and inspection is $299. If the flue is unlined, a stainless liner runs $1,200 to $4,500, and tuckpointing the exterior is $299 to $2,500.
My Camano Island chase cover has rusted through. Why so fast?
Salt air from Port Susan and Saratoga Passage attacks galvanized steel, and waterfront and bluff homes on Camano see it worst. We replace chase covers in stainless steel for that reason, $299 to $1,500 depending on size.
Do you serve Warm Beach?
Yes. Warm Beach is on the same Stanwood route and shares ZIP 98292. Many of the homes there started as cabins with wood stoves, so we check flue size and liner condition closely on the first visit.
How often can you get up to Stanwood?
We batch Stanwood, Camano and the Arlington area into full days, usually every couple of weeks in the busy season. If you can be flexible on the date you will get in sooner. If neighbors need service too, tell us and we can group the visits.
